The Volunteer Half Runner Bean is a superior, rust-resistant strain of the White Half Runner Bean, known for its early yields and high quality. It is resistant to some strains of virus that affect other "white half runner" strains. This variety produces round pods that average just over four inches in length and are great for snapping. Volunteer Half Runner vines grow to about 3 feet and will climb but staking is not essential. Yields are heavy and last over a long period. They hold tenderness in challenging weather and are stringless. Seeds mature in 60 days and should be planted after the last frost when soil temperatures are above 60°F.
